Deb Cherry has spent her career helping people across Ottawa find the right home and make a smart investment in the process. Real estate was a passion of hers long before it was a profession. She owned and invested in property for years, and that's what eventually pulled her into the business full-time back in 2005. She still looks at a home the way an owner would, thinking about what it's really worth and what it will return, not just what it will sell for this week.

These days Deb leads Cherry Pick Homes, a close-knit team that has sold more than half a billion dollars in homes and ranks among the top 10 Engel & Völkers advisors across North America by annual transactions. With one of the most respected names in luxury real estate behind her, she can put her clients' properties in front of serious buyers right here in Ottawa and through the brand's network around the world. What she enjoys most, though, is the part the numbers don't capture: getting to know the people she works with and helping them feel confident about a big move.

Before real estate, Deb's life took her a few places. She grew up in Waskesiu, Saskatchewan, spent part of her life in Vancouver, owned a fitness company, and managed fundraising for the YMCA. Different worlds, but every one of them came down to people, which is still what she loves most about this work. When she isn't with clients, you'll usually find her out walking and staying active.

No home is too big or too small, and no client is ever just a transaction. For Deb, the relationship comes first, and after nearly twenty years, that's still the part she's proudest of.
